Doctoral symposium

Research exchange and constructive feedback for doctoral researchers.

2027 call awaiting approval

About this track

The doctoral symposium is intended as a supportive setting for PhD researchers to discuss dissertation work, exchange ideas and receive feedback from experienced researchers. Prospective participants can prepare a research overview describing motivation, progress and open questions.

Prepare your contribution

A useful starting point is a clearly stated research question, a description of what is new, and evidence supporting the contribution. Explain the relationship to prior work, relevant limitations, and any ethical or societal considerations.

  • Check that your topic is relevant to multimedia research.
  • Prepare readable figures, descriptive captions and accessible supplementary materials.
  • Document datasets, evaluation methods and reproducibility information where applicable.
  • Wait for the approved 2027 call before applying page limits, anonymity rules or deadlines.

Submission requirements

The 2027 chairs have not yet approved page limits, templates, review procedures or supplementary-material requirements. Requirements from 2026 are historical reference, not instructions for a 2027 submission.

The final call will specify the submission system, eligibility, review model, formatting, conflicts of interest, publication arrangements and presentation obligations.

Review and presentation

Review criteria, presentation formats and attendance requirements will be stated in the final call. Acceptance does not by itself establish registration, travel support or publication terms. Consult the approved instructions before making commitments.
